Apple now has $237.6 billion and other highlights from the Q4 earnings call

Apple announced the financial results for its fiscal fourth quarter of 2016 this afternoon, and although they met Wall Street estimates, the numbers are still pretty rough. iPhone sales are down 3 million units, and revenue is down $4.5 billion from the year-ago quarter.

Following the release of its earnings, CEO Tim Cook and CFO Luca Maestri hopped on a conference call to talk about their company's performance over the last 3 months, and offer up some insights into its future. Here are some of the most interesting points from the call.

Apple on Tuesday posted its [fiscal] fourth quarter earnings for 2016, offering a look at its performance over the past 3 months. The Cupertino company came close to most of Wall Street's expectations, selling 45.5 million iPhones, 9.3 million iPads and earning $46.9 billion in revenue. The numbers are still down year-over-year, however, as the struggle to find new growth continues.

First look at the new MacBook Pro with Magic Toolbar and Touch ID

Here are the first pictures of Apple's new MacBook Pro. MacRumors spotted the images of what is believed to be the company's new laptop hidden within the just-released macOS Sierra 10.12.1 update, and we have no reason to believe otherwise.

The images appear to confirm the rumors that the refreshed MacBook Pro will feature an OLED touch bar, in place of the function keys, and Touch ID. The above photo shows how to use Touch ID to authenticate an online purchase via Apple Pay.

Apple releases iOS 10.1 with Portrait mode and other improvements

Apple on Monday pushed out the iOS 10.1 software update for iPhone and iPad. The release comes after more than a month of beta testing, and it includes various improvements and one major new user-facing feature: Portrait mode, which is exclusive to the dual-camera iPhone 7 Plus.

First introduced at Apple's iPhone event in September, Portrait mode is a new setting in the stock Camera app that uses the 7 Plus' wide angle lens to gather perspective data for a photo. This allows the handset to take photos with a depth-of-field, or 'bokeh,' effect with blurry backgrounds.

Some great stick-on wallets for iPhone

Stick-on (or adhesive) wallets are the perfect solution for folks who want to leave their wallet at home, but hate the bulkiness of dedicated cases. These are essentially thin pouches that adhere to the back of your device and hold your credit/ID cards and some cash. We know this is not your typical accessory category, so we've put together a list of some good options that work with most recent iPhone models.
