Suspects in Last Year’s iPhone 4 Prototype Scandal Plead Not Guilty

Two men charged with misdemeanor theft charges on the leaked iPhone 4 prototype scandal from last year have pled not guilty in court. If you recall, an iPhone 4 prototype was found in a bar in Redwood City, California and then sold to gadget blog Gizmodo for $5,000.

Gizmodo was cleared of charges last month, but two suspects that allegedly found the prototype are now being charged...

Did Apple Hire Jailbreak Hacker Comex Out of Embarrassment?

Apple recently hired prolific jailbreak hacker Nicholas Allegra, aka Comex. He is well known for his work on the web based jailbreak tool JailbreakMe. He was also the first person to publish a jailbreak for the iPad 2.

Comex's hacking abilities have been compared to that of high-level cyber criminal that attacks government infrastructures. Being singlehandedly responsible for Apple releasing new versions of iOS to patch his exploits, many believed that Comex was hired by Apple to work on patching security vulnerabilities from the inside.

iOS 5 Beta 7 Expires October 20

iOS 5 Beta 7 will expire on October 20, 2011. As usual, jailbreak hacker iH8Sn0w has dug deep into Apple's latest beta build to determine when it will expire. iOS 5 Beta 6 is set to expire on September 29.

Apple Working On Turn-By-Turn Navigation in iOS

A new job listing uncovered by AppleInsider hints that Apple is focusing on the enhancement of location-based applications in future versions of iOS. For location-aware apps on the iPhone, Apple is looking to hire a talented "iOS QA Location Engineer" with a focus on GPS technology.

It's been rumored that Apple is working on a better Maps app for iOS, and this new job listing further corroborates that speculation.

iPhone N94 Prototype Front Panel Leaked, Reveals Design Very Similar to iPhone 4

Leaked iPhone components and parts have been surfacing recently, with the most recent prototype part relating to the allusive iPhone 'N94' prototype.

Rumors have been that the next iPhone will feature a larger screen with an edge-to-edge bezel, but this prototype leak indicates a LCD display completely identical to the iPhone 4. It's believed that the N94 prototype will be a cheaper model very similar to the iPhone 4, and the lower tier device is expected to rely heavily on iCloud for storage and streaming.
