Apple sets a fitness challenge for International Dance Day

International Dance Day takes place annually on April 29. One of the ways Apple is celebrating the special date is by releasing Apple a series of dance-focused workouts and special collections with music from ABBA, BTS, Queen and more. Another is a new fitness challenge that gives Apple Watch owners a chance to win an exclusive virtual medal and animated stickers for iMessage and FaceTime.

How to win 2022 International Dance Day Apple Watch fitness challenge

To complete this challenge, you must log at least 20 minutes of any Dance workout in the Workout app on your Apple Watch on Friday, April 29. You have until the end of the day to complete this challenge. You don’t have to complete a Dance workout using Apple’s own Workout app, but you must record at least a 20-minute Dance workout in a compatible app. For instance, you’re allowed to use any third-party app as long as it supports Dance workouts and writes data to the Health database. What do I get by winning this challenge?

From the announcement published on the Apple Newsroom:

On International Dance Day, Apple Watch users around the world are encouraged to find time to groove and can earn a limited-edition award and animated stickers for Messages for completing any Dance workout of 20 minutes or more.

As stated, winning the challenge will earn you an exclusive virtual award along with some nicely animated stickers that you can use in your iMessage chats and during FaceTime calls. You can view your award underneath the “Summary” tab in the Fitness app on your iPhone. If you’re an Apple Fitness+ subscriber ($10/month or $80/year), you can also earn this award by completing one of the workouts in a new special section of Dance workouts. Those include six 20-minute workouts across Latin Grooves, Upbeat Anthems, Throwback Hits and Hip-Hop/R&B playlists.
