Apple promotes California Streaming with AR logo on upcoming event’s page

With the arrival of the company’s last several major events, Apple has used augmented reality to help spice things up. And that’s no different with today’s announcement. Earlier, the company confirmed it will be “California Streaming” on Tuesday, September 14, to unveil new products.

And, as has become par for the course, Apple has switched on some AR fun to go along with the event’s official announcement. If you go visit the company’s official landing page for the upcoming event on your iPhone, you’ll be greeted with a new Apple logo inspired by the invitation itself.

The AR logo, which you’ll see transposed into the real world via your iPhone’s display, is three-dimensional and very, very shiny. Some might say futuristic, even. To see it, open up the website and tap on the Apple logo. You’ll jump right into the AR experience.

When you do open up the augmented reality viewer, you’ll get to see the event’s date (September 14) over a beautiful lake with some mountains in the background. Basically, the 3D Apple logo serves as a portal to the destination in (presumably) California. So, as you can see in the image above, you’ll see your world and then a portal view to somewhere else through the Apple logo. There’s even music playing.

We’ll have to wait and see what folks make of this Apple invitation. Is it a hint at something going to be announced at the event? It doesn’t look that way this year, at least.

As for what’s coming down the pike, that’s expected to lean heavily into the next iPhone lineup. The iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max. Meanwhile, we’ll probably get to see an Apple Watch Series 7, too. And maybe a new iPad or MacBook Pro, too.

Not long to wait, now!
