Learn how to automatically translate Apple Music lyrics and show lyrics pronunciation on your iPhone or iPad to better understand the meaning of foreign songs and sing them correctly.
Imagine you’re listening to a Korean song on Apple Music and want to know what its lyrics mean in English and how you can sing along. The new Lyrics Translation feature in iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 will translate Korean sentences into English, allowing you to understand the lyrics. Similarly, if you want to learn how to sing that song or start a Karaoke session with the Apple Music Sing feature, Lyrics Pronunciation will convert Korean words into English and show them on the screen.
If you’re a K-pop fan or frequently listen to songs in another language like Korean or Spanish, these new Apple Music features are sure to be a big hit with you.
Supported languages
According to Apple’s iOS 26 page, Lyrics Translation is available for select Apple Music songs in these languages:
- English to Chinese (Simplified)
- English to Japanese
- Korean to Chinese (Simplified)
- Korean to English
- Korean to Japanese
- Spanish to English
No concrete information is available about the languages supported by the Lyrics Pronunciation feature, but it works on my iPhone when I listen to popular Korean songs.
Translate Apple Music lyrics and show pronunciation
- Open the Music app on your iPhone or iPad and play a foreign song in one of the supported languages.
- Go to the Now Playing screen and tap the lyrics button.
- This new feature is enabled by default for supported languages. However, if you don’t see the translation and pronunciation, tap the Translate icon and select ‘Show Translation’ and ‘Show Pronunciation.’
Here’s how both these things look:
If you don’t see the Translation and Pronunciation options in Apple Music
- This feature is available in only a handful of language combinations mentioned above.
- Not every song from the supported languages has translation or pronunciation options yet.
- Only Apple Music songs support Lyrics Translation and Pronunciation; you won’t see them for locally synced tracks.
- Check your iPhone’s Wi-Fi or cellular data connection, as you need an Internet connection to view translations and pronunciation.
- Go to iOS Settings > App > Music > Larger Text and select Lyrics. Now, return to the lyrics screen in Apple Music, and you should see a clear “Show Pronunciation” button.
Note that Lyrics Translation and Pronunciation aren’t yet available on a Mac running macOS Tahoe 26.
