Blahget
I can’t believe I’m doing another budget tracker (it seems like we do one almost every week), but this one was too interesting not to mention. What’s the worst part of using these types of apps? Having to manual type in everything. Blahget hopes to change that. It utilizes enhanced speech recognition and, yes, AI, to allow for effortless voice-controlled input. That’s right, to enter in expenses here, all you have to do is say something like, “I spent $10 on lunch.” You can also check on your finances using voice commands, saying things like “how much did I spend on groceries last month?” Other features include smart categorization and a typing mode for when you’re in public. This seems like just one of those apps you have to try for yourself.
Reflectr – AI Journal & Diary
What was that? You want another AI app? You got it. This is Reflectr, an AI-infused journal that promises better self-analysis through private interactions with…AI. Now I know what you are thinking, “no way I am telling my problems to an AI chatbot,” but hear me out. This app is actually more like a secret social network, where you post how you are feeling or what you are thinking, and then the AI chatbots comment on your posts with advice and encouragement. There is full end-to-end encryption, and you can utilize a passcode or biometric lock to protect your writing. Look, I don’t know if this app is a good long-term solution for you, but I think there is something here, and it might be worth checking out.
Starmony – Make Music
I guess this is just AI week here at iDB. You ever see those clips on social media showing off a catchy song that was made by AI, and wonder how they do it? Meet Starmony, an app that allows you to create a song and release it within minutes using AI. There are thousands of professional music productions to choose from, as well as a variety of special effects like auto-tune. You can even transform your voice into that of any top creator. As with any AI app, the IAPs are kind of a pain to deal with. But if you just want a fun way to mess around with creating music, this seems worth checking out.
Home, Planet & Hunters
Looking for a fun game to play this weekend? Home, Planet & Hunters might scratch that itch. It’s a Pixel-style wasteland RPG by noted developers Black Pearl Games, and as you can see in the screenshot, it’s quite a wild ride. Like any good RPG, there are multiple (at least 8) fighters to choose from, upgradable skills and gear, and you are tasked with a strong, balanced 3-person squad to help you protect your shattered planet. You’ll also encounter strange enemies such as hermit crabs, flying octopuses, sandworts, and even a “Giant Hand.” Look, if any of this sounds remotely interesting, this game is free to check out!
