Ring is a jailbreak tweak that makes it easier to control your iPhone’s ringer volume

If you own an iPhone, then you already know you have multiple volume settings on your device that are completely separate from one another. Don’t believe me? Try setting your music volume to a certain setting and then see if your iPhone’s ringtone plays at that same volume. I’ll bet it didn’t.

Unfortunately, Apple doesn’t make it easy to see what your ringer volume actually is until your iPhone is actively ringing, which is one reason why we think you’re going to love a new jailbreak tweak called Ring by iOS developer yandevelop.

With Ring, your system media volume and ringer volume levels are separately displayed in the Control Center volume module, making it easy to discern between them both and configure each one to a specific setting without any guesswork.

Not only can you manually adjust your finger volume from here, but you can also mute your ringer volume by sliding the ringer volume all the way down to 0%. The tweak displays via an animated glyph above the slider whether your ringer volume is active or silenced.

The developer first announced Ring in a post shared to /r/jailbreak, and it looks like something I’d actually want to use.

Once installed, you will find a dedicated preference pane in the Settings app where you can configure the Ring tweak to your satisfaction:

Things you can do here include:

  • Enabling or disabling Ring on demand
  • Enabling or disabling muting Ringer with slider
  • Respringing your device to save any changes you’ve made

If you’re interested in taking more control over your jailbroken iPhone’s Ringer volume with the Ring jailbreak tweak, then you can purchase it for $0.99 from the Havoc repository via your favorite package manager app. The tweak supports jailbroken iOS 15 and 16 devices.

Don’t you think Apple should incorporate a more accessible setting for the iPhone’s ringer volume so that users don’t have to navigate the Settings app to find it? Let us know in the comments section down below.
