YTMusicNoCast hides the Cast button from the YouTube Music app

The YouTube Music app, much like the regular YouTube app, has a Cast button in the user interface that can be used to project your playback on another nearby device capable of receiving AirPlay or Cast signals.

The Cast button in the YouTube Music app lets you find nearby devices to play media on.

But if you never use this functionality, then the Cast button may appear as a piece of clutter in the YouTube Music app’s user interface, warranting its removal.

Enter YTMusicNoCast, a free jailbreak tweak by iOS developer zSaaiq that removes the Cast button from the YouTube Music app’s user interface to further simplify your interactions with the app.

While removing the Cast button isn’t especially necessary for people who don’t use it, doing so can help minimalists appreciate the user experience more by removing an otherwise unused part of the app.

Obviously, folks who use the Cast button shouldn’t use the YTMusicNoCast jailbreak tweak, as they won’t be able to find the button for it once installed.

Personally, I use the Cast feature in the regular YouTube app frequently in order to watch videos on the big screen, but I never do this with YouTube Music, nor do I have any speakers to use this functionality with. This makes me an ideal candidate for this tweak, but your mileage will obviously vary depending on how you use the YouTube Music app (if at all).

YTMusicNoCast doesn’t have any options to configure. Once installed, the Cast button is removed from the app’s user interface. Uninstalling the tweak is the only way to restore the Cast button after the fact.

Those who want give YTMusicNoCast a try can download it for free from zSaaiq’s personal repository via their favorite package manager app. The tweak supports the latest version of the YouTube Music app at the time of this writing, but it’s always possible for a future update to break the tweak, which means it may be a good idea for jailbreakers using this tweak to hold off on updating the app until compatibility is confirmed.

Anyone who isn’t already using zSaaiq’s personal repository can add it to their package manager app of choice by using the URL provided below:
