Apple’s Vision Pro headset could launch next in the United Kingdom, France, Germany and several other countries, probably before June.
Apple promised to launch its Vision Pro mixed-reality headset globally in 2024 but didn’t specify which countries would be getting the product next and when.
The latest visionOS code indicates that the device may soon arrive in Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Japan, Australia, Canada, China, Singapore and South Korea, with Hong Kong and Taiwan potentially in the mix as well.
Vision Pro could come to these countries before June
The assumption is based on new languages added to the virtual keyboard in the latest build of visionOS, the software that powers the headset.
MacRumors has discovered support for these languages in the visionOS code:
- Cantonese, Traditional
- Chinese, Simplified
- English (Australia)
- English (Canada)
- English (Japan)
- English (Singapore)
- English (UK)
- French (Canada)
- French (France)
- German (Germany)
- Japanese
- Korean
Vision Pro was released on February 2, exclusively in the United States. The visionOS software currently supports English (US) and Emoji keyboards. But if the headset is really arriving in additional countries soon, adding support for additional languages to the visionOS virtual keyboard makes a lot of sense.
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently estimated on Medium that Apple will move as fast as possible to offer the headset in more countries before WWDC in June.
That way, he reasoned, it’ll grab the attention of more developers ahead of visionOS 2, which will be previewed at WWDC24 alongside iOS 18 and other new software.
