Dopamine v2 semi-untethered jailbreak updated to version 2.0.5 with even more bug fixes

In case you missed it, the Dopamine v2 semi-untethered jailbreak tool for various iOS & iPadOS 15 and 16 devices was updated once more over the weekend to version 2.0.5 with another handful of bug fixes and improvements that benefit anyone who began depending on the tool when it launched on Friday.

Dopamine v2.0.5 released.

Dopamine project lead developer Lars Fröder (@opa334dev) announced the release of the latest update in a post shared to X (formerly Twitter) Saturday morning that links to the project’s GitHub page, which contains a change log that notes how the Dopamine v2.0.5 provides the following changes:

– Improve kfd reliability by memory hogging, also fixes support for devices with 16GB RAM, contributed by @dhinakg
– Fix an issue where /var/jb/var/mobile would get the wrong file permissions on new bootstraps (Fixed retroactively on next re-jailbreak)
– Improve the way injection into problematic processes is blocked
– Block injection into dataaccessd because it seemed to be crash looping for some users
– Fix verbose logs not showing in error log when they aren’t enabled
– Actually print the error that caused the failure in the error log
– Fix app crash on iPads when sharing log
– Fix a random app crash while jailbreaking

If you’re an existing Dopamine v2 user, then you should highly consider installing this update because it helps improve the user experience in more ways than one. For example, it improves the jailbreak’s Kernel File Descriptor (KFD) exploit reliability and makes the exploit work better on devices with 16GB of memory.

The update also makes improvements to injection and errors that will benefit those who use them, in addition to fixing various crashes that could have interrupted user activities under certain circumstances.

Even if you’re not already using Dopamine v2, then it’s advisable for you to download and install the latest version when jailbreaking for the first time. That’s because this helps ensure that you have all the latest bug fixes and improvements right from the start, giving you the most stable jailbreak experience that you can get before your ever get started.

Dopamine v2 is a rootless jailbreak that supports the following device and firmware combinations:

  • iOS & iPadOS 15.0-16.6.1 on arm64 (A9 and later chip-equipped devices for now)
  • iOS & iPadOS 15.0-16.5.1 on A12-A14 and M1 chip-equipped devices
  • iOS & iPadOS 15.0-16.5 on A15-A16 and M2 devices

If you’re ready to get started with Dopamine v2, then you can download it from the project’s official website or view its source code on the project’s GitHub page. You can perma-sign this jailbreak with TrollStore, which is hugely beneficial for those who don’t have a computer to sideload with.
