One of the ways Apple celebrates American Heart Month is to encourage people to focus on their cardiovascular health. As with prior Heart Month challenges, this one invites you to perform a workout on Wednesday, February 14, to win virtual prizes.

The iPhone maker will push a notification to everyone’s wrists to announce the upcoming challenge. “This Valentine’s Day, it’s all about heart,” the notification reads. “Close your Exercise ring on February 14 to get this award.”

You can complete any workout to win this challenge as long as it’s at least thirty minutes long. You must use either the built-in Workout app to log your exercise or a third-party app that writes data to the Health database.

Upon completing this challenge, you’ll find your virtual medals under Awards in the Summary tab of the Fitness app on iPhone and Apple Watch. Another prize is a special set of animated stickers available to use in the Messages app.

New fitness challenges coming in March, April and May

In addition to this challenge, Apple may also celebrate 2024’s Heart Month by featuring relevant apps, movies, TV shows, books, podcasts, etc., in its stores.

The company issues fitness challenges on special occasions to motivate people to move and exercise more. If previous events are an indication, upcoming fitness challenges should celebrate International Women’s Day in March, Earth Day and International Dance Day in April and International Day of Yoga in May.
