AltServer for macOS updated to v1.7.1 to address JIT timeout issues

Attention AltStore users, AltServer for macOS was updated to version 1.7.1 on Thursday and is now available for all Mac users.

AltServer v1.7.1 released for macOS.

According to a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) by the @altstoreio account, the latest update addresses bugs impacting JIT (Just-in-time) users on iOS 17. The full change log below:

– Increases default AltJIT timeout to 90 seconds
– Change AltJIT timeout via defaults Terminal command: defaults write com.rileytestut.AltServer JITTimeout (seconds)

AltServer is the software that resides on your Mac or Windows computer if you use AltStore. It works as the computer-side server that signs sideloaded iPhone and iPad apps using your Apple ID.

You can quickly check to see if you’re using the latest version of AltServer by clicking on the icon in your Mac’s Menu Bar and then choosing the Check for Uodates… option from the drop-down list.

It’s worth noting that while AltServer is also available for Windows, today’s update to version 1.7.1 only pertains to macOS users. There is no update to AltStore, the application that runs on your iPhone or iPad.

AltStore is one of the most popular ways to sideload apps on the iPhone and iPad platforms, right up there with Sideloadly. If you’ve never used it before, then you can head over to the project’s website to get it.
