Apple is offering owners of Sony’s PlayStation 5 gaming console six months of free Apple Music subscription across all compatible devices.
This cross-promotional offer applies to new subscribers only—if you already have an Apple Music subscription, tough luck. Those subscribed to Apple Music in the past (“qualified returning subscribers”) get five months at no extra cost instead of six.
After redeeming this offer, you’ll get access to all of Apple Music for six months at no cost. After your free period expires, Apple will charge your payment method on file $11/month. but don’t worry, you can cancel the subscription on your Apple device one day before expiration to prevent unwanted charges.
Apple Music offers PS5 owners six free months of music
This offer must be redeemed by November 15 next year (2024). It’s restricted to one per PlayStation 5 console and Apple Music subscriber and requires an Apple ID payment method on file. All PlayStation 5 models are eligible.
Sony instructs people to contact Apple support in case of issues signing in with their Apple ID when redeeming the offer.
How to redeem the free Apple Music offer on your PlayStation 5
With your PlayStation Network and Apple ID user names and passwords ready, follow these steps to redeem the offer on your PlayStation 5 console.
- Boot your PlayStation 5 and go to Media, choose All apps and select Apple Music. You can also find the Apple Music app from the console’s search bar.
- Download and open the Apple Music app. You’ll need to sign in with your Apple ID credentials to finish redeeming your six free months of Apple Music.
You must perform the above steps on your PlayStation 5 console. Redeeming the offer on your iPhone, iPad or any older PlayStation console won’t work.
