In fact, Adobe has added as many as twenty new features powered by artificial intelligence (AI) to Photoshop Elements 2024 and Premiere Elements 2024.

Aside from JPEG artifact removal and automatic video highlight reels, users also get one-click selections for easier editing, new options for the Artistic effect, the ability to match a photo’s color and tone, and more.

As a bonus, the apps have refreshed user interfaces with light and dark mode options and include 62 step-by-step guided edits to get you quickly up to speed.

New features in Adobe Photoshop Elements 2024

AI makes object selection a breeze in Photoshop Elements 2024. Just click any object on an image to instantly select it just like that. Single-click AI magic can also boost any compressed JPEG by removing or minimizing compression artifacts.

Photoshop Elements 2024 can turn any photo into art with new AI-powered Artistic Effect options. “Powered by Adobe AI, just click to add effects inspired by famous works of art or popular art styles,” according to the Adobe blog.

Thanks to built-in templates for Photo Reels and the ability to access Adobe Stock photos from inside Photoshop and Premiere Elements, it’s easy to quickly create engaging MP4s or GIFs for social media posts that draw people in “by focusing on motion, close-ups and your highest-quality footage.”

New features in Adobe Premiere Elements 2024

Like Photoshop Elements 2024, Premiere Elements 2024 also supports automatic Highlight Reels and the ability to match color and tone to create a fresh new vibe that you can fine-tune further with hue, saturation and brightness controls. The app also packs in new audio effects like Reverb, Vocal Enhancer and DeHummer.

Other notable changes include new ready-made graphics to boot, along with 26 new Guided Edits for your videos. Last but not least, the editing interface in Premiere Elements 2024 has been redesigned and brought on par with today’s standards with modern fonts, clear icons/buttons and updated colors.

These apps have mobile and web companions, currently in beta, for uploading photos and videos to the cloud and performing simpler edits.

You can use these mobile and web companion apps to add creative overlays and patterns to images, perform one-click fixes to improve skin tone, remove backgrounds, fix white balance, and more. Adobe says customers can now sync across the Elements Organizer and the web and mobile companion apps.

Both apps are currently available as English-only betas. You can use the Elements web app in any web browser. To install a beta of the Photoshop Elements mobile app, use Apple’s TestFlight app.

Adobe bets big on generative AI

The Photoshop maker continues betting big on the latest advances in generative AI. Adobe’s Sensei system has long provided AI features in the cloud to enhance the Creative Cloud apps. But now, many AI features run locally on your device.

Earlier this month at the MAX 2023 creative conference, Adobe announced a bunch of new generative AI features in Photoshop, Illustrator and Express. One of them, called Generative Expand, allows you to extend an image beyond its original bounds with surprisingly natural results.
