Change up the look and feel of your Lock Screen’s Face ID padlock glyph with Lock Icon Manager

The Lock Screen on Face ID-equipped iPhones displays an animated padlock glyph to indicate when your device is locked or unlocked, but many people have become burnt out from seeing the same glyph over the years, prompting the desire for themes that can make it look different.

While theming the Face ID padlock is nothing new in the jailbreaking or iPhone hacking community, it’s worth noting that a new add-on called Lock Icon Manager by iOS developer Phuc Do for the MacDirtyCow and kfd exploits for iOS 15.0-16.1.2 and 16.0-16.6 beta 1 respectively let’s you customize this icon.

As you can see in the screenshot examples posted above, Lock Icon Manager let’s you set a independent custom graphics for each the locked glyph and the unlocked glyph. The higher the resolution the icon is, the better, according to the developer.

While the add-on comes with its own graphics right out of the box, users will be able to select other icons from their Photo Library to use instead if they wish. This means that the possibilities are endless.

Lock Icon Manager works on all non-jailbroken devices that run a supported firmware version, including Apple’s latest devices. On the other hand, you can still use this add-on even if you’re already jailbroken.
