Apple sets an iPhone 15 event on September 12 with “Wonderlust” tagline

The pre-taped event will be streamed online so fans can follow along with Tim Cook and Co. as they unveil the iPhone 15 lineup and new Apple Watch models.

On August 29, 2023, Apple sent out invites to select press members to attend the upcoming iPhone + Apple Watch event at the Apple Park headquarters. The event will start Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at 10am PT / 1pm ET.

The upcoming presentation will be streamed online on Apple’s website, in the company’s TV app on all compatible devices and through the official Apple channel on YouTube. The best option for many people is YouTube because you can receive a push notification before the keynote starts broadcasting.

Apple event scheduled for September 12

The rumors predicted that Apple’s fall event would take place on September 12. If you watched Apple’s events in the past few years, you know the drill.

The presentation will start with Tim Cook giving an overview of the topics, and then he’ll hand off each segment to an appropriate presenter. Tying them together will be some nicely done transitions with lots of drone footage of the spectacular Apple Park headquarters, but all eyes will be on new devices.

What to expect: iPhone 15, Apple Watch Series 9, etc.

The star of the show will, of course, be the next iPhone. Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The devices should be offered in several new colors and adopt USB-C charging.

It also looks like iPhone 15 Pros will continue to have better cameras than their non-Pro counterparts. If the iPhone 14 lineup is an indication, the flagship iPhone 15 Pro Max should be Apple’s best-selling model. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the periscope lens will be the strongest selling point of the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Along with the iPhone 15, Apple should also announce the new Apple Watch Series 9 with a faster chip and update the Apple Watch Ultra.

How to watch Apple’s September 12 keynote?

Like in previous years, Apple will broadcast the keynote video across several platforms so that fans can watch the presentation on any device they use.

Anyone with a browser can watch the streaming presentation on Apple’s website via the Apple Events page. The iPhone 15 keynote will also be viewable via the company’s TV app. The Apple TV app is available on a plethora of different devices, including smart TVs, gaming consoles, set-top boxes, etc.

The official Apple YouTube channel is the best option in terms of ubiquity. YouTube is widely available on a range of platforms and devices, and all you need to do is click Notify me on the iPhone 15 event placeholder page to receive a push reminder from YouTube before the pre-recorded keynote is about to start broadcasting.

You’ll be able to re-watch the keynote on YouTube, via the Apple Events page and in the TV app. Moreover, Apple will share the keynote as a downloadable video through the Apple Events channel on Apple Podcasts.

Another pre-taped keynote

During the pandemic, the iPhone maker moved away from in-person events in favor of sleek pre-taped keynotes broadcast online.

With the pandemic behind us, Apple continues to hold these types of events because the format has proved very popular with fans thanks to its Hollywood production value. Nowadays the company also allows for some in-person attendance, but you need to be among its favorite journalists or developers.

A Mac + iPad event in October?

Apple has traditionally held two events in the fall. Aside from the primary iPhone-focused keynote in September, Apple usually holds another event in October to refresh Macs, iPads and other devices like the Apple TV and accessories such as AirPods and HomePod.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, an October event will be a launchpad for refreshed MacBook Air and MacBook Pro laptops powered by the upcoming 3nm Apple M3 chip, as well as minor iPad refreshes (probably the iPad mini and the regular plain iPad). Other devices, like M3 iPad Pros, iMacs and the 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro with M3 Max and M3 Pro, are expected to follow in 2024.
