The upcoming iPhone 15 lineup could come in a few new colors, including light green which just made an appearance in leaked photographs.
The new color finish resembles the green iPhone 12 but has a softer, spring-like vibe. A leaker who shared photographs of a green iPhone 12 doesn’t know whether this colorway will be available right from the launch or drop in Spring 2024.
iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus could offer a green option
Leaker @MajinBuOfficial says the green color looks similar to the alpine green we already saw on the iPhone 12 series. He notes that the new color option will likely arrive in the spring of 2024. He’s probably right about that, as the green color is synonymous with spring as the gray winter days slowly give way to lush green.
One thing to note: The device pictured in the photo at the top of this post is an iPhone 15 dummy rather than Apple’s production unit.
Mid-cycle color refreshes
Apple tends to add a new color to the lineup approximately half a year after a new model launches. This is one way to reinvigorate interest in the handset and get tongues wagging, earning Apple free press during a period of slowing iPhone sales.
We first saw this at play with the red iPhone 8 that launched in April 2018, seven months after it went on sale. The tradition continued with subsequent models, so Apple has since given us iPhones in yellow, green and other colors.
Other rumored new iPhone 15 colors might include a dark blue shade and a new shade of gray to complement the titanium finish on the iPhone 15 Pros. According to 9to5Mac, Apple won’t offer a gold color finish for this year’s iPhones.
What colors will the iPhone models be offered in?
According to earlier reporting from both MacRumors and 9to5Mac, all iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models will be offered in the following colors.
Rumored colors of standard iPhone 15 models:
- Black
- Light green
- Bright blue
- Yellow
- Bright pink
By comparison, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus are available in blue, purple, yellow, midnight, starlight and red finishes.

The iPhone Pro colors tend to be boring—the Pro moniker suggests these phones are for true professionals who don’t like their technology in vibrant colors.
Apple will announce the iPhone 15 lineup in a few weeks, with the rumor mill pointing to September 12 as the most likely day for an announcement.
In the pandemic, Apple switched from in-person to online-only events.
The iPhone 15 should continue the tradition of pre-taped Apple events with restricted in-person attendance of select journalists to try out new gear in the Steve Jobs Theater at the Apple Park headquarters.
