Apple Pay now available in Vietnam and Chile

Vietnam has emerged as one of the more important markets for Apple as it has been trying to move device manufacturing from China to Vietnam, with limited success. In May, the company opened its online store in Vietnam, offering a similar selection of products and accessories as Apple’s online stores in other countries.

After adding a compatible card to the Wallet app on their iPhones, customers can start making contactless payments at NFC terminals in stores.

Apple Pay also works in compatible apps and on participating websites. For further information about setting up and using the Apple Pay service in Vietnam and Chile, visit apple.com/cl/apple-pay and apple.com/vn/apple-pay.

The iOS and iPadOS Feature Availability page shows that Apple Pay is available in over 80 countries worldwide. See Apple’s support document for a list of all the banks that work with Apple Pay,

Apple Pay protects your privacy by exchanging one-time tokens, meaning the card number or the user’s identity is never shared with merchants. Moreover, the actual card number is never stored on the device or on Apple’s servers.
