Important stuff from this week

Hobbyist programs Raspberry Pi Pico Board with jailbroken iPad Pro hack

PicoTTY iPad Pro communicating with USB Serial device.

A hobbyist used a jailbroken 11-inch 2018 iPad Pro and some software hacks that they now call PicoTTY to successfully program a Raspberry Pi Pico board over a USB connection.

This feat would ordinarily require a full-blown computer, as iOS and iPadOS devices generally lack the drivers necessary to communicate with non-MFi USB serial devices, which makes this a major feat.

You can learn more about PicoTTY and the implications this achievement has in our full news post.

Dopamine v1.1 random reboots?

The developer behind the Dopamine jailbreak for A12-A15 devices is currently investigating reports of random reboots after launching Dopamine version 1.1.

Polls currently indicate a 50/50 split, or something similar to this result, suggesting that the issue may not be as widespread as originally thought. It’s also possible that some underlying issue on those devices is the cause rather than Dopamine itself.

You can learn more about this issue in our full news post.

These updates also include an opt-in Canister analytics feature that users can choose to participate in to help anonymously advance product development, however doing so is not required.

You can learn more about the latest Zebra updates in our full news post.

Bobo Dark

Bobo Dark theme.

Bobo Dark is another fantastic theme that you can use to make your Home Screen look like something you’ve always wanted, but never had the opportunity to have because of Apple’s unchanging design principles.

The colors of Bobo Dark are very eye-catching, and the theme includes not only Home Screen app icons, but also icons for the Settings app as well.
