Zebra package manager receives minor updates with bug fixes & improvements

The Zebra package manager for jailbroken iPhones and iPads received a couple of updates this past weekend to versions 1.1.34 and 1.1.35 respectively, which introduced a few minor changes to how the app works.

Citing the change logs published on the project’s GitHub page, the two aforementioned Zebra updates bring with them the following changes:

Zebra v1.1.34

– Add opt-in Canister download analytics.

Zebra v1.1.35

– Fix some issues regarding downloading packages due to Canister analytics. Installing a file from the file system will now work.
– Remove support for the third-party Apollo Reddit client as it prepares to shut down due to Reddit’s terrible new API policy.
– Make changes to use up less storage space on user devices.

While the first update simply added an option for users to opt into anonymous analytics for Canister to improve product development, the second update was more substantial in that it fixed bugs, optimized storage space usage, and changed support for apps.

The update is recommended for anyone who already uses Zebra, while prospective users should obviously download the latest version as well for the best user experience. Zebra is supported on rootless jailbreaks in addition to rootful jailbreaks.

If you’re an existing Zebra package manager app user, then you can update to the latest version by launching any of your package manager apps and refreshing your sources to find the latest version awaiting your installation.
