New IconRotation tweak rotates a jailbroken iPhone’s Home Screen icons with orientation like an iPad

If you’re interested in a cool new jailbreak tweak to show off that rootless Dopamine or palera1n jailbreak of yours, then might we recommend a free release called IconRotation by iOS developer ETHN?

IconRotator in action on the Home Screen.

IconRotation is somewhat of a novelty jailbreak tweak that automatically rotates all your Home Screen’s app icons to match the orientation of your iPhone in time and space, whether that’s right side up, upside down, landscape to the left, or landscape to the right.

One thing worth noting is that IconRotation only snaps your Home Screen icons to 90º-based orientations, such as 90º, 190º, and 270º. If you’re holding your iPhone diagonally, such as 45º or 135º, then you won’t see your Home Screen’s app icons rotate to match those positions.

You can see how this looks in the animated GIF example above, which depicts not only the app icons and their names rotating to match the orientation of our iPhone in real time, but also the widgets that we have on our Home Screen. The effect is similar to what one might expect to see on an iPad, but on the iPhone as well.

Since the purpose of IconRotation is so simple and well-executed right out of the box, it may not come as any surprise that there aren’t any options to configure.

Anyone who might be interested in giving the new IconRotation jailbreak tweak a try on their pwned handset can do so for free by procuring the tweak from ETHN’s personal repository via their favorite package manager app. If you’re not already taking advantage of ETHN’s personal repository, then you can add it to your package manager app with the URL provided below:
