Opa334 touts ‘Dopamine’ as official name for Fugu15 Max jailbreak

After much hype, Lars Fröder (@opa334) formally announced the official name of the Fugu15 Max jailbreak for arm64e devices (iPhone XS and later) running iOS & iPadOS 15.0-15.4.1 that he had been working on for the past several months.

Opa334 announces Dopamine.

In a Tweet, Fröder used the cryptic Emoji-based reveal of “d👴🏻⛏️,” which many fans quickly decoded to stand for Dopamine, a play on Fröder’s @opa334 Twitter handle.

Hours later, Fröder officially unveiled the Dopamine user interface, apparently created with help from @sourcelocation:

Dopamine UI

The UI looks quite good, but it’s merely a mock up and isn’t functional as of yet. Fröder said that the final UI could still change before an official release.

Dopamine had been referred to as Fugu15 Max throughout the public beta period because it was largely based on Linus Henze’s Fugu15 jailbreak for developers; however, Fröder put in a lot of effort to fix the Wi-Fi bug, incorporate tweak injection, make a user interface, and address a ton of other issues that needed to be addressed before it would be ready for the general public.

Dopamine has yet to be officially released to the general public, however Fugu15 Max beta 8 dropped just yesterday afternoon in what Fröder coined the ‘final public beta’ ahead of a public release. No ETA for the public release has been provided as of yet.

It’s worth noting that Dopamine is a rootless jailbreak, which means that a lot of rootful jailbreak tweaks from the past are going to need to be updated for the new dynamic. A lot of jailbreak tweak developers have already started getting ahead of the curve as they make new rootless-supported jailbreak tweaks and update older tweaks to support rootless.

iDB will continue to monitor Dopamine’s development and follow up with additional news breaks as they happen.
