Hidy is a jailbreak tweak that can customize the Home and Lock Screens

If you’re of the minimalist variety, then chances are you might find a use for a newly released and free jailbreak tweak dubbed Hidy.

Hidy can remove unwanted elements from the iOS user interface, and customize others.

This simple tweak allows users to hide unwanted elements from their Home Screen and Lock Screen to make the interfaces as minimal as they want. It also includes a few odds and ends for customizing things.

In the screenshot embedded above, you’ll see that the Home Screen lacks app icon labels and page dots, and that the Status Bar has a few different customizations applied. These are a few examples of what’s possible with Hidy, but far from everything.

Once installed, users will find a dedicated preference pane in the Settings app where they can configure Hidy to their liking:

Things you can do here include:

  • Hiding the Dock
  • Hiding the Dock’s background
  • Hiding the Dock’s icons
  • Hiding the top bar
  • Hiding app icon labels
  • Hiding the page dots
  • Hiding the Lock Screen’s time and date
  • Hiding the Status Bar time
  • Hiding notification bubbles
  • Hiding the Status Bar battery icon
  • Hiding the Status Bar Wi-Fi icon
  • Change the battery percentage text
  • Change the carrier text

Hidy is far from the only jailbreak tweak capable of hiding elements from various user interfaces on your iPhone, but it’s the newest and fairly straightforward to use.

If you’re interested in trying Hidy out for yourself, then you can download it for free from the BigBoss repository via your favorite package manager app. The tweak supports jailbroken iOS 14 and 15 devices.
