Physical, the series on Apple TV+ starring Rose Byrne, is one of the more popular shows on the streaming service. We bring it up because it’s what’s considered a “dark comedy”, getting folks to laugh at things that they might not normally. And if you happen to be a fan of good ol’ gallows humor, then Apple might have another option for you to check out in the near future called Bad Sisters.
The upcoming show follows the Gravey sisters, a “tight-knight” group of sisters that have always looked out for one another. The series stars Sharon Horgan, Anne-Marie Duff, Eva Birthistle, Eve Hewson, and Sarah Greene as the sisters. Claes Bang and Brian Gleeson, among others, also star in the show.

The tight-knit Garvey sisters have always looked out for each other. When their brother-in-law winds up dead, his life insurers launch an investigation to prove malicious intent — and set their sights on the sisters, all of whom had ample reason to kill him.
The first episode will premiere on Friday, August 19, 2022.
Based on the trailer, this certainly falls into the dark comedy category. But it’s probably going to be the thriller aspects that help it shine. Though, it’s worth noting here that it’s not billed as a limited series, which means there’s always the possibility that Apple TV+ renews the show for a second season at some point. If that happens, we might not get an answer to the overall mystery by the time the first season wraps.
