Gesso, Pocket CPR, Cryo and other apps to check out this week

Welcome back to another edition of our Apps of the Week roundup. This week we have a smart audio tour guide for sightseeing, a digital CPR companion, and a wellness app for getting the most out of your showers. And as always, we’ve selected a great new game for you to check out.

Gesso

If you’re going to be traveling this summer, you may want to check out Gesso. It’s not at all like other travel guides. It’s an audio experience that plays things like cinematic sound walks, audio tours and immersive moving plays, based on your location. It’s limited to just a few major cities right now, but if one of them is in your itinerary, it’s worth a look.

Pocket CPR: Learn CPR

Pocket CPR is an Apple Watch app that teaches the basics of hands-only and traditional CPR methods through tutorials and interactive cadence timers. What a cool app but I feel like there should be a disclaimer here. Something about this app not being intended to replace the advice of a trained medical professional? There, that should be sufficient.

Cryo – Cold Shower

Yep, it’s an app for taking cold showers. Apparently there are some amazing benefits of cold showers including reducing stress levels, increasing metabolic rate, faster muscle recovery and stronger immune system. This app just kind of helps you track your cold shower sessions and it includes a voice-assisted warm-up timer and wellness quotes.
