Watch the trailer for the second season of the Apple TV+ thriller series ‘Tehran’ ahead of its May 6 premiere

Tehran turned out to be one of the best series available on Apple TV+, and it wrapped up its first season way back in October of 2020. Apple renewed the show for a second season in January of last year, but things have been pretty quiet on that particular front ever since. But the wait is almost over.

The second season of the thriller is scheduled to make its streaming debut on Apple TV+ Friday, May 6, 2022. Before that date rolls around, though, we get to see the first official trailer today. And while the footage measures in at just over two minutes in length, and it does show off plenty of great story beats and character work that fans of the show can expect in the upcoming season, the big showstopper is the new face joining the cast.

Glenn Close (Damages, The Shield) is the newest addition to the cast, and she joins returning cast members Niv Sultan, Shervin Alenabi, and others. Here’s Apple’s attached description of the show that accompanied the second season trailer:

Tamar is a Mossad hacker-agent who infiltrates Tehran under a false identity to help destroy Iran’s nuclear creator. But when the mission fails and she’s trapped in a new life, Tamar must plan an operation that will place everyone dear to her in jeopardy.

There were eight episodes in the first season, and it’s likely the second season will follow suit. The good news for fans of the first season is that they don’t have long to wait before the second season kicks off.

Are you looking forward to checking out the second season of Tehran when it starts streaming in May?
