Apple Arcade is now a permanent perk for eligible Verizon Wireless customers

It has been almost a year since Verizon Wireless announced that, for select customers, it was offering up to 12 months of free access to Apple Arcade. It was just one more perk the wireless carrier was offering up for eligible customers on specific unlimited plans. And now it’s getting even better.

For those eligible customers, at least. Today, Verizon Wireless has confirmed that customers on the “5G Play More” and the “5G Get More” plans can now get Apple Arcade, free-of-charge, with no time limitation. This means those customers can start accessing the hundreds of different games available in the subscription service, without actually paying for the subscription service.

Per Verizon’s website:

  • Included as long as you keep an eligible plan with 5G Get More and 5G Play More.
    • Good news: If you got Get More Unlimited* or Play More Unlimited* on or after 8/20/20, when your plan changes to 5G Get More or 5G Play More, Apple Arcade will be included.

It’s worth noting that Verizon’s perks reach out to Google’s Play Pass, too. So if you prefer Google’s option on an Android device, Verizon has you covered.

This is just another Apple-specific perk Verizon is offering for eligible unlimited plan customers. The wireless carrier has been offering access to Apple Music at no extra cost for quite some time. So at this point, Verizon just needs to start offering access to things like Apple TV+ and Apple Fitness+ to really cover all the bases.

So, good news for eligible customers who might not have wanted to fork over the $4.99 per month for Apple Arcade. The other unlimited plans Verizon offers can get six months of free access to Apple Arcade, to which they’ll be charged $4.99 after the trial ends.
