Watch the trailer for upcoming Apple TV+ docuseries ‘Lincoln’s Dilemma’ ahead of February 18 premiere date

In mid-January, Apple TV+ announced that it had secured the streaming rights to another documentary series. This one is called Lincoln’s Dilemma, and as the title might suggest, will focus primarily on President Lincoln. But, of course, it’s a documentary series so it will be digging much deeper than surface level content.

And we get a bit of a taste of that thanks to the first official trailer for the upcoming docuseries. Lincoln’s Dilemma will look at the “complex journey to end slavery,” which Lincoln helped spearhead. It’s all billed as a “21st century examination of a complicated man and the people and events that shaped his evolving stance on slavery.”

Lincoln’s Dilemma is narrated by Jeffrey Wright (Westworld). The documentary series will be told in four parts, and it will also feature the voices of Leslie Odom, Jr. and Bill Camp as Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln, respectively.

From the initial announcement back in January:

Based on acclaimed historian David S. Reynolds’ award-winning book, “Abe: Abraham Lincoln in His Times,” the series features insights from a diverse range of journalists, educators and Lincoln scholars, as well as rare archival materials, that offer a more nuanced look into the man dubbed the Great Emancipator. Set against the background of the Civil War, “Lincoln’s Dilemma” also gives voice to the narratives of enslaved people, shaping a more complete view of an America divided over issues including economy, race and humanity, and underscoring Lincoln’s battle to save the country, no matter the cost.

Lincoln’s Dilemma will start streaming on Apple TV+ Friday, February 18, 2022. Will you be checking this one out?
