Apple Pay is launching soon in Argentina and Peru

Apple itself confirmed the upcoming expansion on its Latin America website, which now lists Apple Pay as available in Costa Rica and “coming soon to Argentina and Peru.”

As a matter of fact, Interbank was recently teasing the imminent Apple Pay launch in Peru via its webpage. The now-removed webpage provided information and instructional videos on how to use Apple’s mobile payment service with the bank’s Visa cards.

Interbank is Peru’s second-largest bank with 270+ branches across the country.

As for Chile, 9to5Mac has more on that:

In September, Banco de Chile, one of the most important banks of the South American country, let its customers add their cards to the iPhone’s Wallet app to use Apple Pay. A few days later, the bank removed these cards as Apple wasn’t ready to promote the service just yet. Then, in December, Banco de Chile added the terms and conditions for customers to use the service. As of now, it’s unclear when it will launch in the country.

As an example, in just the past few months the Apple Pay feature became available in Costa Rica, Colombia and Azerbaijan. For the sake of understanding, we should point out that Apple divides the Americas region into two parts for accounting purposes: One is North America and the other includes Latin America and the Caribbean.

The iOS Feature Availability webpage on Apple’s website provides an updated list of countries where iPhone and iPad features like Apple Pay are currently available to use.
