Apple TV+ shows off the making of the drama ‘The Tragedy of Macbeth’

In May of 2021, it was announced that A24 and Apple TV+ had sealed the deal to bring The Tragedy of Macbeth to the streaming service at some point in the future. It stars Denzel Washington and Frances McDormand, and it’s finally streaming on Apple TV+. Which means it’s about time we get to see a behind the scenes look at how it all came together.

Well, mostly. While these behind the scenes looks are a great way to see a tease of how a movie or TV show is put together, it’s obviously not the full picture. Still, as is par for the course, we get to hear from the stars and some of the creators of what so many people will be watching. And that’s the case with this one.

Both Washington and McDormand sit down in front of the camera to talk about The Tragedy of Macbeth. Washington teases that it’s, “Two forces coming together for evil…but we did it well” when it comes to him teaming up with McDormand on the project.

This is one of the more in-depth behind the scenes looks that Apple TV+ has offered up to this point, though. It measures in at just over 13 minutes in length. In addition to the interviews, there is plenty of footage, both the fully produced film and a look behind the scenes, to mull over.

The Tragedy of Macbeth is streaming now on Apple TV+. The drama is presented in black and white, and it’s certainly striking to look at. It’s directed by Joel Coen (Inside Llewyn DavisNo Country For Old Men).

The cast also includes Kathryn Hunter (Rome), Corey Hawkins (Kong: Skull Island), Brendan Gleeson (In Bruges), Bertie Carvel (Babylon), Harry Melling (Harry Potterseries), and Alex Hassell (Cold Mountain).

If you haven’t already watch it, do you plan on checking it out soon?
