‘El Deafo’ family-friendly series set to premiere January 7, 2022, on Apple TV+

Apple is coming in hot with another family-friendly series, which is set to arrive in the early goings of 2022. This one’s based on a graphic novel memoir, and Apple’s going all-in with the binge-worthy content this time around, too.

Typically, Apple TV+ releases new episodes on a weekly basis after a series premiere. However, with the upcoming premiere of the kid series El Deafo, the streaming service will drop every single episode in the first season at the same time. Which means you can watch the whole show, if it suits your fancy, on Friday, January 7, 2022.

El Deafo is based on the Newbery Honor-winning graphic novel, which is also a memoir, from the author Cece Bell. You can check out the first official trailer for the upcoming family-friendly series above.

As far as the voice cast is concerned, it includes the newcomer Lexi Finigan, Jane Lynch (Glee), Pamela Adlon (Bob’s Burgers), and Chuck Nice (Star Talk). The trailer features an original song from the artist Waxahatchee, which is called “Tomorrow.”

Here’s the official description of the upcoming series:

‘El Deafo’ follows perceptive young Cece (voiced by Finigan) as she loses her hearing and finds her inner superhero. Going to school and making new friends can be tough. Having to do both while wearing a bulky hearing aid on your chest? That takes superpowers! With a little help from her superhero alter ego El Deafo, Cece learns to embrace what makes her extraordinary.

Will McRobb (The Adventures of Pete & Pete) is writing the series, as well as serving as an executive producer. Bell will be narrating the show. Meanwhile, the show is being directed by Gilly Fogg (Bob the Builder).

What’s more, the official soundtrack for El Deafo will launch on January 7, 2022, as well. The aforementioned “Tomorrow” is available to stream now.
