Apple TV+ gets festive with official trailer for Peanuts special ‘For Auld Lang Syne’; holiday episodes of ‘Stillwater’ and ‘Get Rolling with Otis’

It’s the holiday season, which means popular entertainment is ready to show off a little bit. Apple TV+ is no different, and it’s coming out swinging for the fences. Not only does it have a very special Peanuts special, but also a pair of episodes in two of its family-friendly shows as well.

Today, Apple TV+ confirmed its festive efforts with an official announcement. First, it details the brand new official trailer for the upcoming Peanuts special For Auld Lang Syne. The company first announced the new Apple Original holiday film back in October of this year. At the time, it simply came with a brief description of what to expect in the new special, and that’s about it.

Here’s that official description:

For Auld Lang Syne will tell the story of a Peanuts gang that experiences a rather unfortunate Christmas because grandma can’t be present. But there’s hope for New Year’s Eve. Lucy decides she’s going to throw herself the best New Year’s Eve party ever. On the other side of the coin, Charlie Brown is determined to accomplish at least one of his resolutions before the clock strikes 12 and a new year kicks off.

More festivities

Apple TV+ also confirmed that two of its family-friendly shows will have holiday-centric episodes. First is Stillwater, which will air its holiday episode on Friday, December 3, 2021. The episode is titled The Way Home:

…While helping Stillwater make treats to celebrate the winter solstice festival, the kids learn he plans to share some with a neighbor they’re wary of.

And next, Get Rolling with Otis, which will also show off its holiday episode on December 3, 2021:

…it’s Christmas Day and Rosalie is due to have her baby. Daisy can’t wait to be a big sister, but she’s disappointed when she can’t decorate the tree with her mama. Otis rolls into action to help Daisy decorate the tree and when the snow builds up too high, he plows his way through the snow, so Daisy can meet her new baby sister.

So, a few holiday entries this year. It’s also worth noting that the Apple TV app is presenting holiday-themed episodes in other shows, including Dickinson, Fraggle Rock, and Ted Lasso. So keep an eye out for those.
