Apple TV+ shows us the ‘Lasso Way’ with an ‘injection of good’ in new video

For fans of the first season of the Apple TV+ comedy series Ted Lasso, the wait is almost over for the second season premiere. In just a little over two weeks we’ll be invited back into the Lasso world. And with that, we’ll get all the laughs and other emotions along with it.

Ted Lasso is such a big deal for Apple and its video streaming service Apple TV+ that the company announced the premiere date for the show’s second season at its Spring Loaded event earlier this year. At the time, the company confirmed the show would make its return on Friday, July 23, 2021.

And since then, we’ve had to wait.

Lucky for us, they did at least give us the first official trailer for the second season at the same time. In that footage that lasted around two minutes, we saw plenty of jokes and a taste of what the story would bring later this year. But for those who might not think it was enough (we definitely understand), we have a new video from Apple to share.

This one’s “The Lasso Way,” and as Toheeb Jimoh (who plays Sam Obisanya) tells us, this is a show that’s basically an “injection of good.” And that basically hits the nail right on the head, doesn’t it? The show has been praised for a lot of different things since its debut, but it’s the show’s uplifting nature and overall . . . goodness that really make it stand out.

In any event, this latest video is just a nice way to get a behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming second season. We get to hear from the cast, including Jason Sudeikis who plays the man, the myth, the legend Ted Lasso himself. Filling out the rest of the cast is Hannah Waddingham as Rebecca Welton; Brendan Hunt as Coach Beard; Jeremy Swift as Higgins; Phil Dunster as Jamie Tart; Brett Goldstein as Roy Kent; Nick Mohammed as Nathan Shelley; and Juno Temple as Keeley Jones, among others.

Sarah Niles joined the cast as well, playing the sports psychologist Sharon, who will have a pivotal role in the upcoming season.
