Dark Maps forces dark mode in Apple Maps at all times

The Apple Maps app is designed to display maps in light or dark mode based on one of two different circumstances; 1) the user’s system light or dark mode setting, and 2) the time of day it is.

Wouldn’t it be nice, however, if the app allowed you to choose between light or dark mode all the time without having to switch your system light or dark mode setting and without having to wait for a specific time of the day? If you answered yes, then you’re in for a treat.

Dark Maps is a newly released and free jailbreak tweak by iOS developer level3tjg that, once installed, forces dark mode in the Apple Maps app regardless of your system light or dark mode setting and regardless of what time it is.

We can see this tweak appealing especially to those who like the way Apple Maps looks in dark mode,  but prefer using the system light mode setting for other apps for one reason or another.

Dark Maps doesn’t come with any options to configure, as simply installing the tweak allows it to do its job.

Those interested in trying Dark Maps out for themselves can download it for free from level3tjg’s personal repository using whichever package manager they prefer. The tweak supports jailbroken iOS 13 and 14 devices.

If you’re not already using level3tjg’s personal repository, then you can add it to your package manager of choice via the following URL:
