It’s been relatively quiet on the premiere front for Apple TV+ through the beginning of 2021. However, that is going to change throughout the rest of the year. And in an effort to get people excited, Apple’s released a sizzle reel showing off the busy rest of the year.
The sizzle reel has looks ahead, yes, but it’s also supposed to drum up support for the Apple TV+ service in general. To that end, there’s plenty of footage from films and documentaries that are already available to watch now. That includes the likes of the dramatic series Mosquito Coast and the documentary Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry.
Academy Award-nominated Wolfwalkers makes the cut, too. As does the Tom Hanks-starring Greyhound.
But, it’s the brief footage of what’s new that’s really worth checking out. The entire sizzle reel measures in at just over two minutes in length, so there’s plenty to look at. In this case, we get to see the second seasons of the science-fiction action thriller See, which stars Jason Mamoa. We get to see the critically- and viewer-acclaimed comedy series Ted Lasso, which stars Jason Sudeikis which premieres July 23.
We also get looks at the upcoming second seasons of the drama series The Morning Show, starring Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, and Billy Crudup. And then there are the first season premieres for series like Physical, starring Rose Byrne, which launches June 18. We get to see footage from the upcoming film CODA and the gigantic sci-fi series Foundation.
It’s a lot.
Which of the big premieres for Apple TV+ this year are you looking forward to most?
