watchOS 8 makes it easier to connect with improved messaging and photos experience

Along with iOS and iPadOS changes, Apple is welcoming new elements to its other popular product, the Apple Watch. That happens with the next major software update, watchOS 8.

Today, during its keynote for this year’s WWDC, Apple has welcomed another big change to the Apple Watch. With watchOS 8, Apple is adding new features to stay connected. That starts with photos. On Apple Watch, the Photos watch face is the most popular, apparently. The new Portraits watch face will automatically bring Portrait photos to the watch face.

Users can adjust the photo on the watch face, making it their own. Scrolling the Digital Crown will adjust the watch face in real time, giving it a gorgeous look.

The Photos app on watchOS 8 is revamped, with new memories, a new mosaic layout, and more. Tapping the Share icon will share photos via Messages and Mail directly from the Watch. Scribble, Dictate, and more are all options for constructing a message from the Watch. Users can use the Digital Crown to move the cursor while making a message, too.

The new App Shelf is present in watchOS 8, too. Making it easy to grab content from another app to share.

These new features will be available for eligible Apple Watch owners later this year when the software launches to the public.
