iPadOS 15 makes big changes to multitasking

With iPadOS 15, the tablet experience is getting a big boost.

Multitasking is getting better on iPadOS 15. Apple today confirmed there is a new control that appears at the top of the apps. Tapping it will bring up the multitasking menu, opting for Split View or full screen mode. This makes switching between apps easy and quick. And switching apps in Split View is as easy as swiping down, letting you choose another app for either side of the screen.

It even supports apps that offer multiple panels in a single app.

The Shelf is a new area for easy access to open windows within an app. The Shelf shows all open tabs in an app like Safari. There are new Split View options for those options, too. You can add or remove windows to The Shelf as well. Launching Split View is as easy as dragging an open app over another.

New keyboard shortcuts also makes doing all of this easier right on the keyboard.
