Jason Sudeikis earns SAG award for Outstanding Performance in ‘Ted Lasso’

Ted Lasso has easily been one of Apple TV+‘s biggest success stories to date. And the show’s leading star, Jason Sudeikis, has the awards to show for it, too.

The winners for the 27th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were announced recently, and Sudeikis came out as one of the night’s biggest winners. The actor won this year’s award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series. This marks Sudeikis’s first nomination and win for a SAG award.

This is not his first award win for the titular role in Ted Lasso, though. Back in March, this year’s Critics Choice Awards confirmed that Sudeikis had won the award for Best Actor in a Comedy Series. Meanwhile, the show itself raked in two additional awards. Hannah Waddingham (who plays Rebecca Welton in the series) earning the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, and the show itself won in the Best Comedy Series category.

Apple TV+ isn’t a stranger to the Screen Actors Guild Awards, either. Last year, Jennifer Aniston, who plays Alex Levy in the drama series The Morning Show, won the award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series.

Ted Lasso has already been renewed for a second and third season. However, the third season will more than likely be the last for the hit comedy series.
