Twidget for iPhone is a cool Home screen widget for your Twitter feed

How about something entirely different? Meet Twidget, a cool app by York, England-based developer James Shaw. This free of charge piece of software is basically an iPhone and iPad widget providing an at-a-glance look at your Twitter timeline right on the Home screen.

Upon first run, you’ll be asked to connect your Twitter account before you can add the widget to the Home screen. With that done, head to the iOS widget menu on your Home screen like you would when adding any other widget. The widget is available in three sizes (small 2×2, medium 4×2 and large 4×4), each providing different tweet data so you can get creative.

With a widget on your Home screen, you can tap a particular tweet to open it directly in the Twitter app. You can also customize a widget’s appearance by choosing from light, dark or blue themes (tap and hold your Home screen widget and choose Edit Widget from the menu).

Should you find yourself squinting at the small typeface for your Twitter timeline, set the font size for tweets (small, medium and large). And while you cannot interact with tweets within the widget due to Apple’s inherent restrictions for iOS 14 widgets, Twidget does update itself automatically to keep your Twitter timeline in sync.

The widget, specifically designed for iOS 14 and iPadOS 14, takes full advantage of Apple’s new WidgetKit framework for third-party widget development.
