Second outbreak of COVID-19 impacts team members of Apple TV+ series ‘Mythic Quest’

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to rage on. And unfortunately for the crew of the hit Apple TV+ series Mythic Quest, it’s making its way through the crew.

According to a report today from Variety, a second outbreak of COVID-19 has occurred has hit the crew of Mythic Quest in just as many months. The report states that a total of 16 cases have been confirmed at the CBS Studio Center’s Bungalow 3 production set. That took place over the first week of December, with positive cases being confirmed now. Mythic Quest was planning to wrap production on its second season this week, but that won’t happen now.

The report indicates this is the largest outbreak of four “such clusters” in recent months at the same lot, so this is a recurring issue. Variety states that this lot is “quickly becoming ground zero” for COVID-19 in Los Angeles, California.

A spokesperson for Lionsgate had this to say:

Several team members of the Lionsgate-produced television series Mythic Quest have tested positive for COVID-19. They are currently in quarantine, and other staff members have been notified. We are following the extensive health and safety protocols we have in place, and production on the series has been suspended since last Friday when we learned of the positive tests. The health and safety of our ‘Mythic Quest’ team is our highest priority.

Over the last month or so, there have been a total of 41 positive cases on the lot. In mid-November, Mythic Quest paused production for a stretch of three days. And it’s likely that production will pause yet again, albeit briefly, with this latest round of positive cases.

Apple TV+ renewed Mythic Quest for a second season in January of this year. And word on the street is that the second season’s title will be called Mythic Quest: Titan’s Rift.

If you enjoyed the first season, are you looking forward to the debut of the second in the near future?
