The MacBook Pro goes out of stock ahead of a November event and first Apple Silicon Macs

The MacBook Pro is currently out of stock at Apple’s online and retail stores, with new deliveries arriving in mid-November, according to German-language blog Macerkopf.de. As you know, Apple is widely rumored to be holding an online-only product presentation around mid-November to supposedly announce the first Mac model powered by its own silicon.

Indeed, the 16-inch MacBook Pro is listed with a November 11-18 delivery timeframe. Similarly, specific 13-inch MacBook Pro models are listed with early, mid or late-November shipping.

From machine translation of the Macerkopf story:

The MacBook Air looks a bit better (November 5th to 12th). The situation is similarly tense with the iMac. Two of three 21.5-inch iMac models will be available at the end of November and one model will be available at the beginning of November. Two models of the 27-inch iMac can be delivered immediately and one model at the end of November.

To refresh your memory, reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has predicted that Apple will revive the twelve-inch MacBook by building a new 13-inch model powered by the Apple Silicon. The machine may feature an all-new form factor design.

Bloomberg today outlined the first Apple Silicon iMac featuring the company’s custom A14T chip, as well as the upcoming second-generation Apple Silicon models of the iMac and MacBook, said to be powered by the next-generation Apple A15 chip.

Bloomberg thinks Apple is developing three different processors for Macs, all based on the 5-nanometer A14 chip. The iPhone maker said at WWDC this summer that the move to its own chips for Mac computers will happen over the next two years. After the transition is complete, Apple will continue building and supporting Intel-based Macs for years to come.
