‘Dickinson’ season 2 will premiere January 8, 2021 on Apple TV+; third season in the works

Dickinson, starring Hailee Steinfeld (The Edge of Seventeen, Bumblebee), is one of the more unique shows on Apple TV+. And now we know when to expect the second season.

Today, Apple TV+ has confirmed that the second season of Dickinson will premiere on January 8, 2021. The series, which follows a young Emily Dickinson (Steinfeld), was a launch title for Apple TV+ when the streaming service launched late last year. Unlike the other launch shows, Dickinson was praised right out of the gate, and it also won a Peabody Award earlier this year.

Basically, a second season of the show was inevitable.

Along with the announcement today, Apple TV+ shared a quick teaser trailer, too:

The comedic series is a standout for its musical choices, the writing, and standout acting from Steinfeld and others. And, indeed, the ensemble cast is coming back for the second season. That includes Ella Hunt, Anna Baryshnikov, Jane Krakowski, Adrian Blake Enscoe, and Toby Huss. Whiz Khalifa, singer and songwriter, will be returning as Death, too.

If you’re a fan of Dickinson and you’re happy about the season 2 premiere date, there’s even more good news: early production has started on the third season of the series, too. There’s no word on when that season will premiere, but at least it’s in the works.
