Apple seeds seventh beta of watchOS 7 to developers

Apple will launch watchOS 7 later this year. Before that, beta versions of the software are necessary to prepare developers for what’s to come.

As such, there is a brand new beta version for the smartwatch operating system. On Tuesday, Apple seeded the seventh beta of watchOS 7 to developers. As is par for the course, this new prerelease software may or may not have any new features in the mix. If it does, we will update this post accordingly and let you know what Apple added in this beta.

As far as the software itself? watchOS 7 adds quite a bit to the mix. There is the new handwashing feature, which will detect and track the wearer as they wash their hands for 20 seconds. Apple added the ability to quickly and easily share watch faces, too. Of course, there are new watch faces in general as well. With watchOS 7, sleep tracking is possible with the Apple Watch. There are new workouts to track with the fitness app, general improvements to Siri, and much more.

To update, developers need to make sure the Apple Watch has at least 50% battery life. The smartwatch must also be connected to its charger, and to the iPhone. The latest beta is available to download and install now.
