Apple will celebrate national parks with August’s Apple Watch Activity Challenge

If you want to celebrate the “natural wonder” of the United States’ national parks along with Apple, you can do just that with an upcoming Activity Challenge for the Apple Watch.

That’s according to a report from 9to5Mac, which says that Apple will be celebrating the “natural wonder of national parks” with the newest Activity Challenge. To get this challenge’s achievements and rewards, Apple Watch owners must complete a hike, a walk, a run, or a wheelchair workout of at least one mile on August 30, 2020. As usual the Apple Watch will track your progress, and you can use some third-party apps to track your workout as well.

This challenge celebrates the natural wonder of national parks. Earn your award on August 30 by recording a hike, walk, roll, or run of a mile (1.6K) or more with any app that adds workouts to Health.

If this sounds familiar, it’s because it is. Apple has made it a routine to celebrate national parks before the end of August for the last three years. As noted in the report, last year’s celebration coincided with the 100th birthday of the Grand Canyon National Park.

Keep an eye out for the Apple Watch’s notification regarding the upcoming Activity Challenge. Do you plan on taking part when the challenge goes live?
