The Sonos Move now comes in a Lunar White option and offers 11 hours of battery life

If you’ve been looking to get a wireless speaker for your home, and you’ve been considering the Sonos Move, there is a couple pieces of good news today.

First, for the folks who haven’t purchased a Sonos Move just yet, there’s a new color option to consider. That would be Lunar White, which means the Move’s color lineup now matches the rest of Sonos’ family of speakers. At the time of publication the black color option is currently listed as backordered, and won’t start shipping until late July. Meanwhile, the white option is now available to pre-order from the Sonos website, and it is expected to ship on Tuesday, June 30, 2020.

You’ll still need to fork over $399 to pick one up, though. So no change there.

Now, a bit of good news for the folks out there who already own a Sonos Move: the latest software update for the wireless speaker has added an additional hour of battery life. That bumps your listening time from 10 hours to 11 hours. You’ll just need to make sure to download and install the latest software update to take advantage of the boosted listening time.

The Sonos Move is designed to move around. It’s water- and drop-resistant, with an IP56 rating. Sonos designed the wireless speaker to be the option you want to bring with you when you’re planning an outside excursion, but know you’ll be able to listen to music when you arrive. It will work with Bluetooth while out and about, but is primarily used with Wi-Fi when you’re home. The wireless speaker also supports AirPlay 2, so iOS and macOS users can stream content directly to the speaker.

Charging the Move is simple enough, just place it on the charging base to give it power. You can keep using the speaker to listen to music while it’s charging as well.

The Sonos Move in Lunar White is available to pre-order now. Do you plan on picking one up? If you’ve owned a Sonos speaker, and Apple’s HomePod, how do you feel they compare? Let us know in the comments!
