This tweak pauses your music playback if you turn your volume all the way down

When you’re trying to enjoy music and someone approaches you to say something, you might feel compelled to turn your volume all the way down so you can hear that person’s voice. The only problem is that when you do this, your music continues to play, forcing you to miss bits of your song.

If you can relate to the somewhat frustrating experience described above, then we think you’ll probably have a deep appreciation for the likes of a newly released and free jailbreak tweak called MusicBeQuiet by iOS developer lia, as it can keep you from missing your tunes after turning your volume all the way down.

The way MusicBeQuiet works is somewhat simple. Once you turn your volume level down to 0%, the tweak spontaneously pauses any tracks that you might have playing. Then, when you’re ready to begin listening again, you can turn your volume back up and resume the playback without having skipped a beat.

If the concept sounds clever, that’s because it is. On the other hand, the idea definitely isn’t new. Several jailbreak tweaks released in the distant past ushered similar functionalities to pwned handsets long before MusicBeQuiet came to fruition, but the latter is designed to work with Apple’s latest and greatest mobile operating system, which is an attractive perk in and of itself.

MusicBeQuiet doesn’t come with any options to configure, so what you see is basically what you get. The tweak is available as a free download from the Packix repository via your favorite package manager and supports all jailbroken iOS 13 devices. Furthermore, the developer has published the tweak’s source code on GitHub for those interested in learning more about how it works.
