Apple Developer app gets redesigned ahead of WWDC, now offers macOS app

Apple Developer app

Ahead of this year’s all-online Worldwide Developers Conference, Apple has updated the official Apple Developer app with not only a new design, but also new features and finally welcomes a macOS version.

On Monday, Apple updated the official Apple Developer app to reflect the impending WWDC 2020 event, which will start on Monday, June 22, 2020. The app, which has been available for iPhone and iPad for quite some time, is now making the jump over to macOS as well.

As for the iOS experience, the Apple Developer app now includes a new Discover tab, which will make it easier to find the latest videos, tutorials, and more. Users will be able to favorite the content they enjoy watching, or want to watch later. Meanwhile, Apple is also refreshing the Browse tab as well, which will let users quickly find sessions across the event.

But the biggest new change is the macOS eversion.

At face value, the new Mac app is basically the same as the iOS version. Users on a Mac will be able to quickly find the new Discover tab, and take advantage of the refreshed Browse tab. The latest update also means that users will be able to tune into the WWDC Special Event Keynote which begins on Monday at 10:00 AM PDT/1:00 PM EDT. The app will also let folks tune into additional events throughout the course of the week as WWDC rolls on.

And if you want to check out sessions and more from past WWDC events, that’s available in the new app as well.

Here are additional details found on Apple’s revamped developer site:
