Apple’s Back to School 2020 promo offers free AirPods when buying a Mac or iPad

For its annual “Back to School” promotional event, Apple is offering a free pair of AirPods with select purchases.

On Monday, Apple launched this year’s Back to School promo in the United States. The company is keeping up the routine, offering up a pair of headphones with an eligible purchase. However, the company is changing things up in one important way: No more Beats. In the years prior to this, Apple has offered a pair of Beats-branded headphones with select purchases as part of the promotion, but now it’s offering a free pair of AirPods as part of the deal.

When you buy an iPad Air or iPad Pro, or any Mac, you’ll get the opportunity to bundle AirPods with Charging Case at no additional cost. However, you can upgrade to the other AirPods options if you prefer. Choosing the AirPods with Wireless Charging Case, for instance, will only cost $40 (rather than $199). Or if you want a pair of AirPods Pro you can pay just $90 (instead of $249).

The Back to School promo is available now for students in kindergarten through grade 12, as well as in higher education. It’s also available for teachers and faculty. This promo also comes with the standard educational pricing, so buyers will see discounts on the Mac and/or iPad they buy, too.

Talk about timing, right? Earlier today, Apple launched 0% financing when buying an iPad or Mac with the Apple Card.
