New on Flix is a free new iPhone app that helps you discover new shows on Netflix.
The brainchild of Portuguese iOS developer Daniel Plata Ruano, New on Flix launched a few days ago and it’s a great way to know what’s headed to Netflix aside from those boring upcoming show listicles that many technology blogs publish online.
Keep in mind that New on Flix is not an official Netflix app.
The user interface couldn’t be simpler: New on Flix was designed to show you all new content that gets added to Netflix every single day. Plus, the software highlights television shows and movies that are about to leave the platform due to expired licenses, which allows you to stay one step ahead and ensure that you watch them before they disappear from Netflix.
The software is very well designed and honors your system-wide Dark Mode setting.
At the time of this writing, the app supported local Netflix catalogues in the following countries (with additional Netflix markets coming at a later stage by way of future updates):
- Argentina
- Germany
- Mexico
- Portugal
- Spain
- United Kingdom
- United States
As another cool bonus, there’s also a coming-soon section dedicated to highlighting new shows and movies that are about to come to Netflix. You can increase or decrease the number of days from the default value of ten days if you’d like see more or fewer shows and movies.

There’s an optional one-time 99-cent upgrade to remove in-app advertising.
