Apple Maps is now showing COVID-19 testing locations in the United States

Apple began rolling out a feature to showcase testing locations for COVID-19 in the United States earlier this month in Apple Maps, but now the feature is widely available for users.

Now, when a user opens the search section within Apple Maps, they will see an option to choose “COVID-19 Testing”. This should be present at the top of the list (which Apple just reworked to show grocery stores, food delivery, and other options more prominently). When choosing it, Apple Maps will show off icons for the closest COVID-19 testing locations. You can see what that looks like in the image at the top of this article.

Tapping on an identified testing location will show the location’s essential information, including hours, and specific information regarding how testing is done. It will also say whether or not a doctor’s referral is necessary to get testing done at the site, or if an appointment is necessary.

Engadget notes today that the official testing site list that Apple uses for Apple Maps is available in the U.S., including Puerto Rico.

The new feature is live now in Apple Maps.
